Shopping: A "Cheap" Solution

This morning I woke up paralyzed with emotion. I have a lot of details that need to be ironed out within the coming weeks and some other possibilities have been thrown into the mix. I am trying my best to stay calm and more than anything patient as I wait for my journey to become more clear.

So how does a girl cope with all this stress? Well, if you are a Wopschall you hit the shops. I was born and raised doing this activity. (Yep, I am calling it an activity because that’s what it is in my family, a lot of hustling for the best deals and steals on the cutest clothes.) Retail therapy I suppose is what others might call it.

Knowing about my stress reliever it’s probably hard to believe I can go into a store and look around and get pleasure without making a purchase. I worked at Nordstrom for six months and purchased one thing for $20. I just love being around the clothing, seeing the different creative outfits, the colors and textures. Real retail therapy isn’t really my thing because I feel guilty for spending the money immediately after, especially if I notice myself buying just to buy. Today I found a few pieces I wanted to add to my wardrobe and I only spent a whopping $1.50 because I had a gift card. (Hurray!)

As successful as my shopping endeavors were I know deep down I am trying to fulfill a void. This uncertainty I am feeling. As good as shopping may feel it is only temporary. And sometimes I just need to face my fears.
