Sundays

I am a go, go, go type of gal. Always on the move. So Sunday, a day of the week traditionally known as the “day of rest” is tough for me. I’ve really tried to teach myself how to relax the last couple of years. More importantly, I’ve had to teach myself it’s okay to sit on the couch in your sweats for an entire afternoon every so often.

I can’t say today there was much couch sitting. I worked (remember I don’t have a traditional job schedule), took a power nap, 17 minutes to be exact, went for a run, got some career advice, gave some career advice (not so sure if I am old enough to be giving any yet), and had a girl’s dinner at my friend’s place.

Life is a balancing act. So as much as I am task oriented, in love with the feeling I get when I cross off the things on my to do list, I feel drained when that’s all I do. Finding the equilibrium is the challenge, and I am not sure we ever fully obtain it.

One thing is for sure though… If I find myself in sweatpants on the couch Friday afternoon (my Sunday) I won’t feel bad.
