Confront It

I have been avoiding a conversation I have been needing to have with a friend, similar to how I have been avoiding writing this blog post today. I was waiting for “the right time,” but as you may know that time never comes. Finally this week I made a point to make having this conversation a priority.

In this conversation there would be confrontation. I imagine most people see confrontation as something negative, but it shouldn’t. Confrontation, if done with respect, solves problems.

When you have an issue or need clarity from someone I encourage you to ask. The worst thing you can do is hold your thoughts inside, because one day you will either blow up from keeping your emotions in or you’ll start making assumptions. Unless you have some super power, people are incapable of mind reading. So the false reality you create by assuming will only make things worse.

The conversation I had today has put me at ease. I have been given clarity because I wasn’t afraid to ask questions and openly share my feelings. Confrontation is a good thing. Love it, and it will show you love back.
