Lies Never Win

Looks like we’ve got another man’s pants on fire… for lying. If you’ve looked at the headlines today you might have seen something like this.

Ronald McDonald can now take a seat on the bench with Brian Williams, and potentially Bill O’Reilly as accusations come in that he made false accounts while covering the Falklands War.

I am not sure why people lie; maybe because if you are calculating with your lies it can get you to your destination faster.
I remember working my first TV job when I was exposed for the first time how manipulating people are to get what they want. It’s too gray of an area to say the people would be flat out lying, but they would be playing the game of politics well to get ahead.
Driving to work one day I remember thinking about the situation in my newsroom, I decided right then I didn’t want to be part of the game. It would put me behind, but I would rather go to bed at night knowing I was not giving up my integrity.
During a work out every once in awhile, when my motivation is low, I think about cheating. Instead of five rounds only three. Instead of three miles, only one. No one is looking. It’s easy to get away with, right? You lose when you give into these negative temptations. Those temptations can be appealing, money, fame, a big job title, but are they worth it enough to give yourself up?
