I failed. Yesterday I did not put together a blog post. Since I was challenged to write daily from a mentor a little over a month ago I had been completing the task well, then yesterday happened. Weekends are always difficult because I go to work early in the morning, so I can’t get my writing completed first, which is what I prefer. The task sits until later in the day when temptations to do other things occur.
When I got home yesterday after work I had a phone date with a good friend who lives in Seattle. I hung up the phone only to dial my mom to catch up with her. I did some reading, went to the gym, and later met a few friends for a drink. By the time I got home it was around 10:30 p.m. I sat in bed with my laptop, beginning to write my blog post, but my eyes started to get heavy, too heavy to stay open and complete the task.
Failure is inevitable. Sometime in your life you are going to fail. That’s okay. What matters is that you climb back on the horse when you get kicked off. Maybe you have gotten away from the New Year’s Resolution you made for yourself. That’s okay. Failure doesn’t mean you quit. You just pick yourself up and try again.
