“Some of you are going to sleep but you don’t deserve rest.” The first line in this motivational video sums up the feelings I’ve had over the past week. I have not gotten many Z’s lately and I won’t be anytime soon because right now I am on a mission.
This mission is partly why I have been M.I.A. over the weekend. Consider this my apology. This blog is a priority for me, however I have had to weigh how I spend my time and this weekend, unfortunately, needed to be spent focusing on the future. (Next week I will announce what that mission is, stay tuned!)
When life rattles you I find that fulfilling your basic needs is the hardest part. I mentioned I haven’t been getting much sleep because I have acquired a heavier workload with a lot of new changes coming into my life. It’s an exciting time, yet stressful. Times like these are when I need to grind. No excuses, no relaxation, only focus on the tasks that need to be completed.
I have come to find that twenty-four hours really isn’t that much time in a day. Ideally I’d spend eight hours sleeping and about one hour working out. Add showering, getting ready for the day and eating, and you are looking at maybe 13 hours left. If you work a job slash that to five hours of viable time you can have to yourself. My point, I’ve had to reschedule my days in order to complete my extra workload. I’ve got to grind.
People who grind are the people who find their way to the top. It’s not easy. It’s painful. The train you are on becomes derailed but somehow you have to stay on track. This is where you have to look within. WHY are you doing this? What are you trying to accomplish? If you can answer these questions with a passionate answer it will be enough to fuel you. Fuel you to push through those sleepless nights and hard times to get you back to the conductor’s seat, steering your life where it is meant to go.
