Grateful For Great Friends

I’ve never been the “going out” type. Sure, I enjoy the occasional night out with friends having a few drinks. But, every weekend… not my style. The hang over isn’t worth it to me. The hang over I do enjoy is the one I get when I am hung up on a wonderful conversation I have had. I love diving deep, learning and exploring people, understanding their lens of the world by trading stories.
From having many a nights where I do get “hung up” I have built some of the most fulfilling relationships. These relationships have been a HUGE source of support I have needed through the past weeks as I have dealt with some big life changes. Those relationships are proving to be just as helpful as I take the steps moving forward.
It’s because I have taken the time to invest in my relationships that I am being rewarded with such joy from them. Everything in life takes work, even the good things. When you work for it though, the greatness you get from it feels more meaningful. My relationships have fostered from blood, sweat and tears. (Sounds dramatic, right? Think about it though… Family = Blood. Running buddies = Sweat. Tears = my closest friends have definitely seen me cry when I express my vulnerabilities… or crying of laughter.)
Life’s journey is full of excitement but the journey is always better when it’s shared. Share your journey by taking the time to get to know the other drivers on the road. You never know when your car will break down or when you will find yourself destined for the same city.
